When Fascist Dictators Turn to Literature

More on this book here. Not sure what I could add to that. Cover artist unknown. The art is by Mario Reuben Cooper (thanks to Derek of True Small Caps for identifying it).

It reminds me a bit of Aubrey Beardsley, but it might in fact be an illustrator named Mario Cooper: http://societyillustrators.org/honors/hof/625.cms

Wow--well spotted. I'll add that to the post. Thank you!

I love this cover. Somehow it reminds me of Guernica-- that's the first thing that popped into my head when I looked at it.

If only Franco had been a pulp author too!
